In order to be more cost and time effective, much of the ESA program is offered in a distance learning format (online). Due to the nature of this discipline however, it is absolutely imperative that students also be given adequate and rigorous practical instruction. Our instructors and staff come from all parts of the country, as do our students. It is therefore required for students and staff to travel as necessary to various locations to fulfill this requirement.
Travel expenses are not included in Academy fees as they will differ with each student. Students may use any mode of transportation as fits their schedule and budget. Wherever possible, group rates will be obtained for accommodations, but students are welcome to stay where they please. It is often more cost effective to share a room if you are so inclined.
Dates and locations of Orientation Weeks, Trim Intensives and other group workshops will be listed on the ESA Calendar as soon as they become available. Any other travel details will also be given at that time. These will vary with location and time of year.
Practicums with Instructors will take place in or near their hometowns. Available dates will be posted on the website. In some cases you may be able to make arrangements with instructors for accommodations. This is up to the individual instructor. Instructors will post available dates for practicums, and provide travel details and options.
Please note that all of the above have pre-requisites. You must fulfill these before attending any workshop or practicum.
